What is a Cookie?
A cookie is a text file created by your browser to support website functions like authentication and personal preferences. A cookie is not a piece of software and cannot look at any information on your computer. A cookie cannot install software (malware, viruses) on your computer.
Wikipedia explains a cookie:
"An HTTP cookie (also called web cookie, Internet cookie, browser cookie or simply cookie), is a small piece of data sent from a website and stored in the user's web browser while the user is browsing. Every time the user loads the website, the browser sends the cookie back to the server to notify the user's previous activity. Cookies were designed to be a reliable mechanism for websites to remember stateful information (such as items added in the shopping cart in an online store) or to record the user's browsing activity (including clicking particular buttons, logging in, or recording which pages were visited in the past)."

Third party cookies
LSN uses third-party advertising companies to serve ads when you visit our website. These companies may use information (not including your name, address, email address, or telephone number) about your visits to this and other websites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you.
Because LSN publishes advertisements from Google and other interest based advertiser networks, you will likely see advertisements that are tailored to reflect your interests. If would like to see what NAI (Network Advertising Initiative) companies are customizing ads for you, you can do so at the link below. You will also have the opportunity to opt out of taylored ads from those companies.
Google's Ads Preference Manager
You can view, delete or add interest categories associated with your browser using Google's Ads Preference Manager, available at: http://www.google.com/policies/technologies/ads/
You also have choices with respect to cookies. By modifying your browser preferences, you have the choice to accept all cookies, to be notified when a cookie is set, or to reject all cookies. If you choose to reject all cookies you will be unable to use those services of the LSN Classifieds that require registration in order to participate. You can still use most of the features of the LSN Classifieds even if you do not accept cookies.
